Using a variety of media including installation, sculpture, print, and video, Simon Denny makes visual art and exhibitions that unpack the social and political implications of the technology industry and the rise of social media, startup culture, blockchains, and cryptocurrencies. Denny has staged significant exhibitions about blockchain and art, such as “Proof of Stake” at Kunstverein in Hamburg and “Proof of Work” at Schinkel Pavillon in Berlin. Simon's has featured solo exhibitions at K21– Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, the Museum of Old and New Art, OCAT, Hammer Museum, Serpentine Galleries, MoMA PS1, and Kunstverein Munich. He represented New Zealand at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015.
