Sarah Friend is an artist and software developer, specializing in blockchain, games, and the peer-to-peer web. Her work critically examines technology and interfaces, in both content and form, considering system-building as a narrative impulse. Sarah is a participant in the Berlin Program for Artists, an alumnus of the Recurse Centre retreat for programmers, an organizer of the Our Networks conference on the distributed web, and a co-curator of Ender Gallery, which is an artist residency taking place inside the game of Minecraft. Her recent exhibitions include “Contingent Systems” at Illingworth Kerr Gallery, “Proof of Stake” at Kunstverein in Hamburg, “Breadcrumbs” at Galerie Nagel Draxler, “Proof of Art” at Oökultur, “Salon Solaire” at suns.works, and “Panarchist's Dinner” at Floating University.
