Vytas Jankauskas

Course Lead, La Plateforme; Designer, Media Artist, & Educator

Vytas Jankauskas is an artist, designer, and educator interested in how emerging technologies inhabit and shape our domestic mundane. His practice deals with social media and the internet of things, raising questions around data ownership, sourcing and dissemination of information, and algorithmic decision-making.
 
Vytas is currently the Course Lead at La Plateforme in Marseille, France, where he runs an interdisciplinary program exploring the future of decentralized, community-oriented social networks, in partnership with Project Liberty. Vytas was previously Head of Research and Creation at the Chronus Art Center Lab in Shanghai and remote adjunct faculty at New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program. 

Vytas' work has been exhibited at the V&A, Tate Modern, CCCB, Chroniques Biennial, Chronus Art Center, Salone Internazionale del Mobile, ISEA, and Cité du Design Saint-Etienne, among others.
